Add an authenticator

Important

Before registering authenticators, you must create a policy and apply it to the target users.

The number of authenticators you can add is set by the system administrator. When the maximum number of authenticators is reached, the Add a login method button in the Authenticator management window becomes inactive.

To add an authenticator, perform the following actions:

1. In the Authenticator management window, click Add a login method.

2. Select the authentication technology.

3. Follow the instructions for registering the authenticator. The window appearance and the prompt text depend on the selected authenticator type.

After the authenticator is registered successfully, the Authenticator management window displays the message The new authenticator has been successfully registered.

4. You can add an arbitrary text comment to the registered authenticator (if this action is allowed by the system administrator). To complete the authenticator registration, click Save.

The type of the registered authenticator and the comment to it are displayed in the Authenticator management window. If your account is allowed to add several authenticators, you can proceed to register them by clicking Add an authenticator.
