Licensing

Axidian Access products use the CAL (Client Access License) licensing scheme. Such a license grants the right to use Axidian Access products for one user. The number of Axidian Access user accounts is counted, while the number of client software installations is not limited.

Licenses can be purchased additionally. If necessary, you can revoke a license from some employees and allocate it to others.

How to manage licenses in Management Console

Axidian Access licenses are divided into two types:

  1. The main Axidian Access license.
  2. Licenses for additional modules.

Main license​

This is the base license. It grants the right to register a user in the system, store their authentication information in the database, and use the basic functions — the administrator console, the user console, and the event log. Purchasing this license is required in any case, regardless of the required functionality of the solution.

Licenses for additional modules​

The license allows you to use a specific module. Licenses are required for all integration modules. All business applications of a module work under the module license; separate licenses are not required for them.

A module license contains an allowed number of its uses. After a license is registered, its objects can be issued to users automatically; this happens during the authentication process.

The revocation of a license for a specific user also happens automatically, by means of a regularly recurring task, if the user in the catalog has been blocked or has lost the rights to use the module.

  • Axidian Access Windows Logon license. Grants the right to use the Windows Logon module for strong and multi-factor authentication in Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Axidian Access RDP Windows Logon license. Grants the right to use the RDP Windows Logon module for two-factor authentication using one-time passwords during terminal access to Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Axidian Access Enterprise Single Sign-On license. Grants the right to use the Enterprise Single Sign-On module for organizing end-to-end authentication in desktop and web applications on end users' workstations.
  • Axidian Access Identity Provider license. Grants the right to use the Identity Provider module for building a Web Single Sign-On system using the SAML and OpenID Connect protocols.
  • Axidian Access NPS RADIUS Extension license. Grants the right to use the RADIUS module for implementing two-factor authentication in applications compatible with the RADIUS protocol (VPN, VDI, and others).
  • Axidian Access IIS Extension license. Grants the right to use the IIS module for implementing strong and two-factor authentication in web applications based on the IIS (Internet Information Services) server.
  • Axidian Access API license. Grants the right to use the API for integration with third-party systems.
  • Axidian Access ADFS Extension license. Grants the right to use the ADFS module for building a system using the ADFS protocol.
  • Axidian Access Mobile Device Provisioning license. Grants the right to use the mobile device provisioning service for releasing devices from quarantine.
