RDP Windows Logon

The RDP Windows Logon module is used to implement two-factor authentication for RDP connections. In this case, the first factor is the domain password, and the second one is a one-time password or a login confirmation in the Axidian Key mobile application. The one-time password can be generated on the user side in the smartphone application, with a special key fob (an OTP token), or sent to the user by SMS or email.

RDP Windows Logon must be installed on the target terminal server the user logs in to. No components need to be installed on the client computer. The configuration with Remote Desktop Gateway is supported.

Authentication technologies​

RDP Windows Logon supports the following user authentication technologies:

  • TOTP and HOTP one-time passwords
  • one-time codes sent by SMS and email
  • push notifications in the Axidian Key mobile application
  • a self-defined password
