Password management

ESSO Agent provides for regular password change in applications. Usually the password is changed automatically.

Manual password change by the user can be configured. If manual password change is allowed, then at the next password change the new password value is not generated automatically, but the user is prompted to enter it.

The system behavior when prompting the user for a new password depends on the type of the user account.

If manual password change by the user is enabled, the following window appears at password change:

Enter the new password and confirm it.

  • The Reveal password button regulates the password entry mode: hidden password or revealed characters.

  • The Generate a random password button generates a password automatically in accordance with the restrictions set for this application.

    The generated password is automatically pasted into the Password field. The Reveal password option is then enabled and the Password confirmation field is cleared.

A new password entered in the standard mode is checked for compliance with the password complexity criteria set for the application. If the password does not comply with the criteria, an error message appears.
