Windows Password

Windows Password can be used for authentication in the following modules:

Install the provider​

  1. Run the installation file located at Axidian Access <version number>/Axidian Providers/Axidian Windows Password Provider/<version number> and follow the steps of the installation wizard.
  2. After the installation is complete, a system restart may be required. If the installation wizard prompts you to restart the system, confirm this action.
  3. To remove or restore the product, open the Control panel menu and use the standard procedure for the supported operating systems.

Credentials verification​

When authenticating through Windows Password Provider, you can configure the credentials verification on the domain controller. To do this:

  1. In the Management Console, go to Configuration → Authenticators and select Windows Password from the list.

  2. In the General settings section, select the preferred credentials verification method:

    • Logon User (the default value) — used only for Windows on machines inside the domain, or on machines from another domain if a trust relationship is configured between the domains. If Logon User is selected but cannot be used, the Ldap Bind password verification method is used instead.
    • Ldap Bind — used if Core Server on Windows is deployed outside the domain, or if Core Server is deployed on Linux.

If you select Ldap Bind, a user who tries to sign in with an expired Windows password does not receive the The password has expired notification.
