Reset Password
Axidian Reset Password (Reset Password) is a utility designed to reset a user's password with automatic synchronization in the Axidian Access system.
When resetting the password through this utility, the password will be generated automatically. The complexity of the generated password is set by the system administrator when configuring the utility. The generated password is sent to the user by email or SMS.
The utility resets the user password in Active Directory, so for a user on whose behalf the utility is running, you must grant administrator rights in the domain. It is enough to add a user to the Administrators domain group.
The user also must have global administrator rights in the Axidian Access system.
Installation files
The files for installation of the utility are located at Axidian Access version number\Axidian Reset Password.
- Axidian.EA.ResetPassword version number.x64.ru-ru.msi: Package for installing the Reset Password utility.
- \Misc: Folder with group policy templates.
Install Reset Password
Install the utility on the workstation/server, where the utility will be run in the future.
To install the utility, run Axidian.EA.ResetPasswordversion number.x64.ru-ru.msi.
Configuration
Download the Axidian Access GPO templates from the distribution to the local storage of the computer where the utility is installed.
infoThe local GPO storage is located at C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions.
Open Local Group Policy Editor and go to Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → Axidian Access → Reset Password.
Select and configure the Password Reset Utility Setup policy. Set the following values:
- Server URL: URL of Core Server, such as http(s)://DNS name of the server/am/core/.
- The type of provider is the method of obtaining the generated password for the user. You can use of SMS or email.
- The text of the message subject is the subject of the message with the generated password.
infoThis is a required parameter when using email to receive a password.
- Message text: Text of the message with the generated password.

If the value is not set, the password will be specified in the text form.
If a value is specified, the field must contain the text password.
- Select and configure the Password Generation configuration policy. In the policy, specify the required criteria for password generation.
Example of the utility
From the Windows Start menu, run the Reset Password utility or execute C:\Program Files\Axidian\Reset Password\EA.ResetPassword.exe on behalf of the user who has the rights to reset the password in Active Directory.
In the main window of the utility, click Login.
NoteLogging in to the utility is performed under the user in whose session the startup is performed. If required, you can run the utility on behalf of another user in an active session.
Search for the user who needs to reset the password, and select it in the search results.
On the user profile, click Reset Password and confirm the action.
NoteWhen resetting your password, pay attention to the Phone Number and Email fields. To send a password in an SMS, the phone number must be the verified user's phone number. When sending an email, the email address must be specified in the Email field.
If the password has been successfully reset, a message appears stating that the password has been successfully reset and the message has been sent.
