Client components
Before you install and configure the client components, make sure your infrastructure meets the system requirements.
Install AirCard Middleware and AirCard Runtime
To install the AirCard Middleware component, run the AxidianCertiFlow.AirCard.Middleware.msi file from the Axidian CertiFlow installation package (AxidianCertiFlow.Client directory) and follow the steps in the wizard.
To install the AirCard Runtime component, run the AxidianCertiFlow.AirCard.Runtime.msi file from the Axidian CertiFlow installation package and follow the steps in the wizard.
You can also install the AirCard Runtime component via Windows Group Policy. To do this, add the Axidian_LLC.cer certificate to the Local Computer storage of each workstation. Axidian_LLC.cer is the signature certificate of the msi package. The certificate is located at Axidian.AirCard.Runtime\Misc\Certificates. Add the certificate to Trusted Publishers.
Configure Axidian AirCard virtual smart card reader
You can set the parameters of the AirCard smart card reader via :
- Active Directory Group Policy (for all workstations within the company's domain)
- Windows Registry (for non-domain workstations)
- Active Directory Group Policy
- Windows Registry
Before you begin configuring the group policy, add Axidian AirCard Enterprise policy templates to the Active Directory administrative templates list. The policy template files are located at \Misc\GroupPolicyTemplates in the AirCard Runtime installation package.
The AirCard Enterprise Server policy applies to the user workstations and defines the connection settings for the Axidian AirCard Enterprise server.
Parameters:
- Not Configured or Disabled. Connection URL is not defined. In this case, AirCard smart cards cannot be operated on the users' workstations. The default value is Not configured.
- Enabled. Specify the link and the port to connect to the server in the Server URL parameter. Make sure that the port is open for inbound connections in the firewall of the AirCard server.
The Virtual AirCard reader policy applies to the user workstations and defines the number of AirCard card readers on a workstation.
- Not Configured or Disabled. The number of readers is equal to 1. The default value is Not configured.
- Enabled. Specify the number of virtual card readers in the Reader number parameter. The default number is 3. The maximum number is 10.
Create a registry file (.reg) file with the following contents:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\AxidianAirCard\Runtime]
"AirCardEnterpriseServerUrl"=""
"ReaderInstanceCount"=dword:00000000
Specify the link and the port to connect to the AirCard server in the AirCardEnterpriseServerUrl parameter. Specify the number of virtual card readers in the ReaderInstanceCount parameter.
Here is an example of the .reg file contents to connect to the Axidian AirCard Enterprise server over HTTPS and port 3002. Computer name is aircard.demo.local. The number of AirCard readers is 3:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\AxidianAirCard\Runtime]
"AirCardEnterpriseServerUrl"="https://aircard.demo.local:3002"
"ReaderInstanceCount"=dword:00000003
