Licenses
Access Manager uses two types of licenses:
- Basic Access Manager license
- Licenses for additional modules

Obtain
Licenses are generated based on the installation identifier. To locate the identifier and obtain licenses:
In the Management Console sidebar, in the Settings section, select Licenses.
On the License files tab, copy the value from the Installation identifier field.
Send the copied value to the manager assigned to your organization or to technical support at https://support.axidian.com/support/home.
Register
After you obtain a license, register it by performing the following steps:
In the Management Console sidebar, in the Settings section, select Licenses.
On the License files tab, click Upload a license.
Click Select a file.
Select the required license file and click Register.
After successful license registration, the licenses are displayed in the table.
Issue a license to a user
For all users who are included in access policies, licenses are issued automatically. The license is assigned to the user after successful authentication in the corresponding module.
Terminate a license
To terminate a license, an automatic license release mechanism is used. This mechanism is enabled by default.
A license can be terminated if a user is:
- Removed from a policy.
- Excluded or removed from the policy scope.
- Blocked or deleted from Active Directory.
If these conditions are met but the license termination mechanism is disabled, you cannot release licenses.
In Access Manager, you can also configure the time after which the license is terminated and restart the revocation mechanism if licenses are not released automatically. To do this, edit the server configuration file C:\inetpub\wwwroot\am\core\Web.config. For more information, see Configuring the license revocation mechanism.
Distribute by policies
To limit the number of licenses used for a department (container), you can set the number of available licenses for a specific policy.
To set the number of available licenses for a policy:
- In the Management Console sidebar, go to the Policies section.
- Select a policy from the list.
- On the policy page, go to the Licenses tab.
- Select licenses and click Available quantity.
- In the window that appears, enter the number of available licenses for a policy and click Save.
In the License distribution by policies section, the number of licenses used within each policy is displayed.
On the policy page, you can view the number of licenses used in this policy and the total number of available licenses for this policy.
Update
- Contact the manager assigned to your organization or technical support at https://support.axidian.com/support/home with a request to create new licenses.
- Register new licenses in Management Console.
After the licenses expire, the new licenses take effect within the specified date and time.
You can track license expiration dates in Management Console in the Licenses section.
