User data caching

This setting allows enabling user data caching on the local computer for the Windows Logon component and applications integrated with the Enterprise Single Sign-On module.

If this setting is enabled for applications, you can log in to the system using an authenticator even without the physical network connection. If there is no connection, cached user data is used.

You can enable user data caching in either in policy settings or individually for each user.

If a user is affected by a policy, you cannot change caching settings individually.

  1. In the Management Console sidebar, open the Policies section.

  2. From the list of policies, select the required policy.

  3. Open the Applications tab and select the ESSO application or the Windows Logon component for which you need to enable data caching.

    Note

If you enable caching for one ESSO application, caching settings are applied to all ESSO applications within the policy.

  1. Click Data caching.

  2. To configure Allow caching account data on user's PC, click Yes.

  3. If required, perform the following actions to configure cache lifetime restriction:

    • In the Initial date and Final date fields, set the expiration date for cached authenticators.
    • In the Number of days since last entry to online mode field, set the validity period of cached authenticators, counting the period from the last login to the system with network connection.

If the validity period of cached authenticators has expired and Core Server is unavailable, the following error message appears during login: Server not found. Data caching on user's PC is disabled for the application.

  4. Click Save.

For more information about login settings when network is unavailable, see the Enterprise SSO and Windows Logon sections.
